I finally got it!!!
Alice in Wonderland (2010) includes a dragon!!!
I was confused for so long, why did someone who likes Alice in Wonderland likes dragons too? What is the link?
Now I finally got it lol
I never watched the 2010 one, so I was only familiar with the one of the 1940s lol
Hello again! You're back here?
Yes, I love the dragon but I also love the movie and the original books for many other reasons too! In the original poem, Jabberwock is not described in great detail, however it was assumed thanks to first illustration that it is a dragon-like monster.
I also loved dragons before I properly got into the AIW interest
Sorry for replying later, I saw your comment only now! I'm much less active here now than I used to be. Thinking about starting to submit works to a new platform.
Thank you so much for the Gold coin badge! 😚
You’re welcome! :)
UKRAINE IS UNDER ATTACK OF RUSSIAN AND BELARUSSIAN FORCES. THESE REGIMES STARTED A WAR. DO WHAT YOU CAN TO PROTECT THE INTERESTS OF INDEPENDENT COUNTRY THAT UKRAINE IS.
What you can do?
- read verified news, do not read fake news, report fake news
- report pro-Putin & anti-Ukrainian propaganda online, boycott anyone and any companies backing Russia and Belarus
- while not directly about the war, please report all the xenophobic stuff directed to Ukrainians that might appear right now. It’s illegal and hateful, and now it especially fits the propaganda
- spread info about the war
- help Ukrainians by verified donations, either of money or of items like food, clothing etc.
- help to organize shelters or donate money/stuff for official ones if they’re asking for it - find legit groups which might organize help for Ukrainian refugees, with transport, communication/translating and whatever they might need - boycott Russian & Belarusian products - sign petitions - take part in a protest, if you can attend one
I don't really think it makes sense when the whole world turns against one country now... In this case against Russia.
Two parties are in a fight and instead of finding a solution, hate is spread all around the world.
It's like two of my children are in a fight... what happens if I take one of them serious, take their side and ignore the other one? How does the ignored sibling feel? I give the one I take serious, everything, and refuse to listen what the other one has to say? This way I can't help to solve the conflict. There will be even more frustration and hate, and they will fight even more against each other, so the opposite will happen, of what I wanted in the origin actually.
There are two perspectives, and I think it's always important to view every one of them to see the bigger picture. Sometimes it was just an misunderstanding, often the real reason for a fight is under the surface and doesn't have to do anything directly with what about the fight is seemingly about.
And then we can find a real solution.
But at last I think that's something we can't change. The only real power we have is about ourselves, about the way we think, how we view the world. And if we are in peace with ourselves.
Because at it seems, the world outside will go from one drama into the next drama... so how and when we can find peace in this world finally?
It all starts within us^^
Something I wanted to share with you, when I saw the post on your profile. Actually I came here to thank you for the gold coin on my drawing ♥
Honestly, I don't really understand much yet about the coins, fragments and stuff...
I gave a gold to your coin because I really love it and you’re one of my favorite dragon artists since I probably started my account here! Don’t worry, I also don’t understand everything about coins etc. yet; I think they are given to others as some seasonal feature on dA.
Well, this is complicated topic and I understand that you want peace - everyone wants peace. I also know that there are people in Russia (and in Belarus, another country which government supports the Russian leader and the invasion on Ukraine) who don’t support that aggressive politics. They also want change - but they don’t have the same freedom as people in Western Europe for example.
The thing is not to hate anyone for being Russian... but to hate those who are in charge of war decisions and who are supporting them.
Excuse me, but if I’d see some clearly propaganda-tone comments online, how they should be ignored? Well, I get, being angry is also bad for a person but we gotta fight with evil. Would you stay so calm if you were confronted with nazi Germany history for example? If you were transported in time for a moment and asked about your opinion on the terror?
“It's like two of my children are in a fight...”
I DON’T think comparing whole countries (primarily, the governments) to children is okay. Fighting children? Then you have also Tweedledum and Tweedledee in Carroll’s “Through the Looking-Glass”. It’s not like they are fighting like children... One was attacked and simply wants to remain independent and keep the nation safe (Ukraine)...
It’s just that I want to explain to you, in case if you live in a country where media might not speak about it that much or not at all. But always be careful with media too.
I know we only have power over ourselves after all. That’s something I told to some people through the years. I also have a personal stance that I can’t truly help others unless I’d be at peace with myself/would control my own problems.
But overall your message comes off as idealistic and ignorant. I’m sorry but that’s my opinion. I don’t want to say you’re a bad person in any way - only that if someone else were to read it, they might be very disappointed... Well, I am also quite disappointed... Everyone wants peace as I wrote before, maybe except some materialistic and egotistical leaders... And you come with a message with New Age-y “love and light” tone.
I just call people to find ways to help cilivians, speak about propaganda in the aggressor country, do what they can to help. While some hypocritical governments would accept sanctions for Russia but still trade important items with them, even selling weapons... that later kill innocent people.
You are safe. You have your family. I’m sure there are many dA users in Ukraine too who might have already lost their families/loved ones, got injured or even killed. You are safe and you can draw your dragons and other amazing creatures. But how about those who must hide in shelters? How about people who are threatened everyday now?
You’re not threatened by bombing, r*pe, shooting, tortures, being used as a “living shield” in a combat... You’re clearly a person from privileged country. So many countries in the world are experiencing the horrors of war. Do you always have the habit of comapring it to children‘s fights? I think it’s quite disrespectful of children to compare them (some of them) to killers like Putin and say the other one is equal to a country that just wants to survive.
I just want you to understand. You don’t need to care about politics, I also don’t really write about it. It’s just that I happen to live in a country that’s giving shelter to Ukrainian refugees and we have a border with them. This threat might be also a threat for my country, if you don’t care about them.
I’m sorry but it’s how I feel - your message about the invasion comes off as very ignorant, ignorant of lost and traumatized lives.
And since you have children, think of the orphaned ones.
